In 2020, the volume of procurement of scrap metal in Ukraine continued to decline and by the end of the year fell by 8.6% to about 3.01 million tons. reported in a non-profit association of enterprises UAVtormet.

Scrap metal supplies to Ukrainian metallurgical plants for 12 months of 2020 decreased by 3.9% compared to the same period of the previous year to 2.8 million tons. Technological stocks of scrap metal at the enterprises are estimated at 170-175 thousand tons.

Exports of Ukrainian scrap metal in 2020 amounted to only 35.9 thousand tons, a decrease of 15% compared to 2019.

Imports of scrap metal in the same period amounted to only 26.4 thousand tons, which is 47.1% less than last year.
