According to preliminary data OP "Ukrmetallurgprom" in April 2020 metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine was smelted 1,413 million tons of steel, which is 27% less than in April 2019 and 20% less than in March. Pig iron production year-on-year decreased by 23.1% to 1,412 million tons, output of finished rolled products – by 22.9% to 1,264 million tons.

For four months, steel production in Ukraine decreased by 9.6% to 6,731 million tons, iron - by 7.6% to 6,507 million tons, production of finished metal products – by 4.8% to 5,882 million tons.

Earlier it was reported that in Ukraine by the end of 2019 has decreased steel production by 1% compared to the 2018 year - to 20,848 million tonnes, output of total rolled - also by 1% to 18,387 million tons, the smelting of cast iron fell by 2% to 20,064 million tons.
