Industrial production in France increased by one percent month-on-month in May this year, following a 0.1 percent decline in April this year, according to statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Research (INSEE). In March-May, industrial production in France increased by 1.2 percent year-on-year and by 0.3 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In May, the production of base metals and finished metal products in France, excluding machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.3 percent month-on-month after rising 0.5 percent in the previous month.
On the other hand, in May, the production of cars, trailers and semi-trailers in France decreased by 4.7 percent month-on-month after an increase of 1.4 percent month-on-month in the previous month, while production in the domestic construction industry increased by 1.2 percent month-on-month in the current month after a decrease of 0.1 percent in April compared to March. In March-May, the volume of production in the domestic construction industry decreased by one percent compared to the previous quarter.
