Indian steel manufacturer Tata Steel Limited has partnered with Google Cloud to expand the autonomous capabilities of its global operations using artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the two companies said in a joint statement released on Wednesday, April 22.
In just nine months, more than 300 specialized agents with artificial intelligence have been deployed, which increases the efficiency and accuracy of Tata Steel's operations, the statement said.
"Working with Google Cloud has allowed us to transform artificial intelligence from a technical experiment into a dedicated partner for every employee," Jayanta Banerjee, Director of Information Technology at Tata Steel, said in a statement.
According to him, this cooperation not only introduces new tools, but also develops the execution mechanism, allowing employees to respond promptly to incoming ideas.
Digital transformation is driven by two platforms: Zen AI, which facilitates the development of low-coding AI agents by inexperienced employees, and Tata Steel Digital Assistant (TDA), which centralizes various data flows.
"By creating a new concept for large-scale autonomous business processes, Tata Steel has demonstrated that the synergy between a unified data cloud and generative artificial intelligence is the key to turning complex industrial systems into a data-driven competitive advantage," Sashi Sridharan, managing director of Google Cloud India, said.
