As of September 15, 2021, according to the Ukrmetallurgprom association of enterprises, of the main existing metallurgical facilities in industrial operation are: 5 out of 15 electric furnaces, 19 out of 21 blast furnaces, 7 out of 8 open-hearth furnaces, 14 out of 16 converters and 16 out of 17 continuous casting machines.

According to the information of the association, in January-August 2021, metallurgical plants of Ukraine procured 2,609 thousand tons of scrap metal (143.5% against the same period in 2020), of which 2,199 thousand tons (122.4% against January- August 2020) delivered to Ukrainian consumers as imported.

Exports of scrap metal in January-August 2021 amounted to 410 thousand tons (1 952% compared to the same period in 2020).

Ukrmetallurgprom clarified that in eight months of 2021 the country produced 14.48 million tons of pig iron (106.8%), steel - 14.59 million tons (106.6%), produced 13.01 million tons of finished rolled products (106.0%) and pipe metal products - 0.66 million tons (121.6%).
